From the shore of their village fishermen spot what they think may be whales. But as they come closer the men are horrified to learn that they are being attacked from the sea by giant flesh-eating beetles. They can be destroyed, but not before they've done great damage and caused many deaths. Captain Silver Flash learns of their existence, and surmises that they come from a frigid climate. Count Von Yartz, a disgruntled scientist, discovered them frozen in an Arctic cave, whereupon they come alive when thawed. Encased in ice, the count sends them off into the Arctic current where they thaw...
