“La planète et le pendule !”

In "La planète et le pendule !", Adam is unexpectedly zapped through the zeta-beam to Anthorann, a distant world where he evades barbarians and their ominous "Rainbow Doom" teleporter. With help from Alanna and Sardath—survivors of a crash from Samakand’s lost science—he dons a Rann spacesuit to defend New Ranagar from Morleen invaders wielding a deadly diamondium pendulum. Written by Gardner Fox and Edmond Hamilton, with dynamic art by Mike Sekowsky and inks by Frank Giacoia and Joe Giella, this 1960 adventure features a striking cover by Gil Kane.

Zapped by the zeta-beam, Adam is teleported, not to Rann, but to Anthorann, a neighboring planet. Escaping barbarians and their "Rainbow Doom" (a teleporter), he meets Alanna and Sardath, who had used knowledge from Samakand scientists to journey to Anthorann, but crashed. Adam dons a Rann spacesuit from the wreckage and faces invaders from Morleen, who swing a "diamondium" pendulum to cut open the dome of New Ranagar. Adam ray-blasts the shaft, then fades away to Earth.
