Charlton's long-running humor magazine Sick serves up a gloriously absurd February 1979 cover by Jack Sparling: a smug, bib-wearing turkey brandishes a knife and fork over a dinner plate — on which lies a very nervous armored knight with a punk-style red mohawk, apparently the main course. The tagline "The Magazine That Dares You To Be… Sick" sets the tone perfectly for the parody contents inside, including "The Revenge of the Punk Panther" and "Heaven Can Wha-T-T-T?" among others. If offbeat, irreverent humor was your thing in 1979, this issue made a strong case for itself right on the newsstand.
