Charlton's irreverent humor magazine Sick comes out swinging with its December 1977 issue, and Jack Sparling's cover says it all — a television set blazing with the words "VIOLENCE! VIOLENCE! VIOLENCE!" while chaotic cartoon figures and missiles burst outward in every direction, the whole scene radiating that gleefully unhinged energy the magazine was known for. The banner promising "27 Pages of TV" and a tease of Star Wars content inside suggests this issue has plenty of satirical targets in its sights. For fans of late-'70s comedy comics with a sharp pop-culture edge, this one's a fine snapshot of the era.
