Charlton's humor magazine Sick delivered plenty of irreverent laughs in 1976, and this August issue announces itself with a wonderfully absurd cover by Earl Norem — a grinning, bug-eyed bald caricature staring out from the center of a bold black-and-white bullseye, tongue lolling from the logo above, declaring "Right On!" in red letters below. Inside, Frank Roberge contributes the artwork, including the gloriously silly "Fool Your Friends Into Thinking You Are Lifting a Real Dumbbell." At fifty cents, this is a cheerful snapshot of mid-seventies comedy magazine culture doing exactly what it did best.
