Satoko Kiyuduki's cover for this 2012 Yen Press volume places the wide-eyed, bespectacled Kuro front and center — black hat, dark cloak, and an expression caught somewhere between determination and surprise — as she reaches toward a glowing treasure chest amid a swirl of shadowy, gnarled branches. It's a wonderfully atmospheric image that perfectly captures the series' blend of melancholy wandering and gentle whimsy.
