Sherlock Holmes: The Liverpool Demon #2

The game is well and truly afoot in this second chapter of Dynamite's Sherlock Holmes: The Liverpool Demon, where the cover plunges us straight into atmosphere thick enough to cut with a knife. A deerstalker-capped Holmes levels a revolver against a blood-red backdrop, flanked by dark silhouettes and the reaching, clawed hands of something decidedly supernatural lurking in the shadows. It's a beautifully moody composition that captures exactly the collision of Victorian rationalism and creeping horror that makes this 2013 series such a compelling read.
