Sherlock #2
This French graphic novel from Glénat brings a fresh, stylized take on the world's most famous detective, with Sherlock Holmes — deerstalker, cape, and all — standing front and center as two menacing figures loom behind him against a dramatic golden lion backdrop. The subtitle Les coquelicots du Penjab ("The Poppies of Punjab") hints at an exotic, intrigue-laden adventure, and the cover's rich amber and red palette gives the whole thing a wonderfully theatrical atmosphere. Created by Didier Convard, Eric Adam, and Jean-Louis Le Hir, this 2008 release is a compelling entry in their reimagining of the Holmes mythos for Franco-Belgian comics readers.
