Shazam! The Monster Society of Evil #1
"Chapter 1: YROOB SZH Z HVXIVG!" kicks off a bold new era for Shazam with Jeff Smith’s dynamic storytelling and bold, expressive art, all his own. When homeless teen Billy Batson follows a mysterious cloaked figure into a forgotten subway station, he’s whisked to the Rock of Eternity and granted the powers of Captain Marvel—only to face his first real test when alligator men appear and the first signs of Mr. Mind’s arrival surface in the heart of town. The cover by Jeff Smith captures the eerie, otherworldly tone of the story’s opening, setting the stage for a mystery that’s as much about identity as it is about power.
