The moody purple-and-amber cover by Bill Sienkiewicz says everything about the tone of this series — Shaft looms in close profile, gun in hand, while a shadowy figure reaches toward him against a warm sunset sky and a city water tower stands watch in the background. It's a quietly tense, cinematic composition that suits David F. Walker's writing and Bilquis Evely's interior art perfectly. This sixth and final issue of the miniseries wraps up one of the more atmospheric takes on the hard-boiled private detective to come out of 2015.
