The rain-slicked streets and a looming suspension bridge set a brooding noir atmosphere for this third chapter of Dynamite's Shaft series, with a trench-coated figure standing defiantly at the center of the cover — a portrait of cool, solitary menace rendered in deep crimsons and electric city lights. The cover is the work of Denys Cowan on pencils and Bill Sienkiewicz on inks, a pairing that gives the image a moody, painterly intensity perfectly suited to the character. Inside, writer David F. Walker and artist Bilquis Evely continue their stylish 2015 take on one of fiction's most enduring private detectives.
