Inventor and private investigator Click Rush is surprised to find a large steel toad figure in his office. He soon realizes it is a radio transmitter and shortly hears an offer from the mysterious voice identifying itself as "Bufa", who offers him half of a $10,000 fee to solve a case of gold smuggling. After successfully wrapping up the case and getting praise from his friend the police commissioner, he again talks with Bufa, who offers him a partnership to go after the city's criminals, splitting the contract money between them.
