Bourgier and David's sweeping historical series continues with this fifth volume, subtitled Shalin (première partie) — the opening chapter of what promises to be a compelling new arc. Éric Bourgier's cover art is quietly arresting: a powerfully built figure, bare-backed and bearing a tall staff crowned with an ornate finial, stands with his back to us surveying a vast, hazy landscape that hints at ancient conflict and long journeys. The scarred, muscular form and the solitary, almost meditative stance speak volumes about the weight this character carries — both physical and otherwise.
