Eileen and her grandfather live on the island where fishing is a way of life. When a director from a film company arrives to make a movie that captures the life on the island, Eileen initially opposes the idea. She eventually gives in and soon falls for the director. But she is not sure of his feelings for her and also has to contend with the jealousy of the star actress in the film. When a roll of film for a scene that Eileen had opposed turns up missing, she is accused of destroying it.
