This January 1995 Marvel/Epic issue promises the kind of chaotic spectacle Sergio Aragonés does best: Groo stands silhouetted against a blazing sun atop a hill, twin blades raised, while an absolutely enormous horde of sword-wielding warriors crowds the foreground with expressions ranging from furious to terrified. The sheer density of Aragonés' cover linework — every face in that mob rendered with his signature rubbery expressiveness — makes the image both funny and genuinely dramatic at once. "The Final Battle" is the story title, and this cover earns that weight beautifully.
