Sergio Aragonés Groo the Wanderer #104

Sergio Aragonés captures his signature brand of delightful mayhem on this September 1993 cover, where a massive crowd of panicked warriors, soldiers, and townsfolk scatter in every direction — many tumbling over each other or fleeing up trees — all apparently terrified by a large black dog bounding gleefully through the middle of the chaos. The story title "A Home for Oso" hints that the canine commotion is very much the point, and Aragonés packs every inch of the cover with his wonderfully expressive, rubbery character work. Issue #104 is a fine example of why this long-running Epic Comics series remained such a joy throughout its run.
