Preston catches Spike Wilson who killed Preston's father. The Inspector says Wilson killed a guard and escaped to Snake River near Alaska, wounded and limping. Lefty and another thief under Wilson catch Preston who escapes and uses them to recapture Wilson. At headquarters the Inspector informs Preston that the Inspector's recommendation for Preston's promotion to Sergeant has been approved.
