Laura, an orphan who lived with an aunt who hates her, only felt alive on the dance floor. She and Peter fell in love, but she gave him up when she got a chance to dance professionally. A leg injury suffered when she was hit by a car finished her for competitions and her partner left her. Then she hears that Peter was married. Now Laura pretends to be someone's girl for the price of a ticket. But when the music fades away, she is just left with her memories.
