“In Love's Image”

"In Love's Image" is a poignant tale from Serenade #5 (1962), where Laura—once a passionate dancer haunted by a past she can't escape—finds herself performing for coins in a world that no longer sees her. Drawn with quiet intensity by Florenci Clavé, whose art captures every ache and flicker of hope, the story unfolds in a single night of music and memory, where love and loss echo beneath the spotlight.

Laura, an orphan who lived with an aunt who hates her, only felt alive on the dance floor. She and Peter fell in love, but she gave him up when she got a chance to dance professionally. A leg injury suffered when she was hit by a car finished her for competitions and her partner left her. Then she hears that Peter was married. Now Laura pretends to be someone's girl for the price of a ticket. But when the music fades away, she is just left with her memories.
