Sensational Spider-Man #36
Part of Marvel's 2007 "Back in Black" event, this issue finds Spider-Man clad in his dark costume and dangling upside-down from the web of a monstrous, looming skull-faced creature that towers over a moody, overcast cityscape — smaller spiders scatter across their web-strands throughout the tense composition. It's a striking, atmospheric image brought to life by cover pencils from Angel Medina and inks by Scott Hanna, setting a genuinely unsettling tone for part two of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's three-part story, with interior art by Ramón Bachs and colors by Paul Mounts.

Peter Parker's student Jordan Harrison may have something to do with the multiple Spider-Men. Or Dr. Calvin Zabo may have the answers, but asking him risks dealing with Hyde.
