Sensational Spider-Man #34
Part of Marvel's 2007 "Back in Black" and "Spider-Man Unmasked" storylines, this issue finds a red-and-black-costumed Spider-Man entangled in a web-strewn confrontation with the Black Cat, whose fierce expression and outstretched claws suggest things between them are anything but friendly. Clayton Crain's moody, web-draped cover art gives the scene a tense, atmospheric quality that draws you right into the heart of the conflict. With Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa writing and Sean Chen on interior art, it's a compelling chapter in one of Spider-Man's most dramatically charged periods.
