Sectaurs: Warriors of Symbion brings its insect-world action to a fever pitch in issue #2, as the cover by Mark Texeira and Joe Del Beato pits two armored warriors — Spidrax, mounted on a fearsome multi-eyed spider-like creature and wielding a whip, against the blond Dargon, riding a winged blue insectoid beast and brandishing a sword — in a mid-air clash against a blazing yellow sky. The creature designs alone make this 1985 Marvel series stand out, blending science fantasy with the unsettling physicality of giant arthropods rendered with real menace. With Bill Mantlo scripting and Texeira on interior art, "The Deadly Fog!" has a creative team clearly committed to making Symbion feel like a genuinely strange and dangerous world.
