“Pour sauver la maison”

In "Pour sauver la maison," a young woman from a wealthy family risks everything to secretly meet her lover, a garage mechanic, in the quiet village of Gretna Green. With her father away in America, she enlists Juliette, a family servant, to pose as her on a trip to the Côte d'Azur—using her name and claiming the trip was paid for by her boss. But when the mechanic learns the truth about her identity, the fragile trust between them begins to unravel. This 1967 issue, lettered in typeset, captures a quiet moment of tension and deception in a story where appearances are everything.

The daughter of a rich industrialist falls for a garage mechanic. With her father going to America, she gets Juliette, a servant who works for the family, to take her place on a trip to the Côte d'Azur while she meets her mechanic in the village of Gretna Green. Juliette uses Alice's name on the trip, but tells Richard that she isn't rich and that her boss paid for the trip. When Richard learns that Alice Flamant's father is a millionaire, he feels she has just been playing with him for her amusement.
