Deep beneath the waves, the Sea Devils face one of their most imposing underwater threats yet — a massive, glowering octopus whose writhing tentacles engulf the entire cover as the team of red-suited divers scrambles in every direction around it. Howard Purcell's cover art captures the claustrophobic dread of "The Forty-Fathom Doom!" with real skill, filling the frame with churning water, grasping limbs, and desperate swimmers in a genuinely unsettling tableau. This 1965 DC adventure is a fine example of the era's silver-age underwater action at its most vividly imaginative.
