Scream Comics #5 is an anthology of humorous picture stories featuring multiple tales. One story involves airmen attempting to wreck an airliner after learning a scientist has invented a "Gremlin Exterminator," leading to aerial action and comedy. Another story shows a child trying to join a group playing lacrosse, eventually managing to play after initially being excluded. A third story features a character receiving a letter from his city cousin, a UFO-riding alien creature, announcing a visit and causing the recipient to ponder whether his cousin might be "thin" or small in stature.
