A young boy earns a nickel selling waste paper and buys a toy airplane, which he peddles around town until he accidentally crashes it into a pond. After retrieving the plane and discovering it works again, he decides to convert it into an electric motor-powered machine. He brings his invention to a golf course where it malfunctions and causes chaos throughout a tournament, launching golf balls in wild directions and creating various mishaps before finally getting trapped in a water hazard.
