The second installment of Soleil's Scotland Yard series arrives with a genuinely unsettling cover by Stéphane Perger — three investigators moving cautiously through darkness, lanterns raised, while a central figure clutches an eerie white doll streaked with red, and a sea of crimson skulls looms ominously in the foreground. The title "Poupées de sang" (Blood Dolls) sets a chilling tone that the moody, fog-tinged imagery delivers with quiet menace. Writer Dobbs and artist Perger look to be crafting a dark procedural with real atmosphere, and this 2013 edition is a compelling entry in their gothic crime collaboration.
