Inspector Farnsworth strides through a moody London night on this Charlton crime title, rendered by penciler Mike Sekowsky and inker John Belfi — pipe in hand, trench coat drawn close, with Big Ben looming behind him and a gas lamp glowing in the fog. Dark silhouettes press in from either side, lending the scene a pleasantly noir atmosphere that suits a Scotland Yard detective perfectly. If mid-1950s procedural crime comics with a distinctly British flavor appeal to you, this is a fine place to start.
