Hazel and Mark come to Hollywood, but find a cold reception and Mark ends up working behind the counter in a diner. Late one night, Hazel is at the diner talking to Mark when a film star and her director come in. They get into an argument and the director claims he can make any young girl a star. To prove his point, he says he will make Hazel a star. After getting her big break, Hazel gets Mark a job as an assistant on the set, but has to go on a date with the director. Later the director shows Hazel some film secretly taken that seems to show Mark is having an affair with Bunny.
