Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? #70

The whole Mystery Inc. gang is in for a wild Friday night — the cover drops Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, Velma, and Fred right onto a basketball court where a snarling, red-and-green monster mascot has burst through a sheet, sending everyone scrambling while Daphne and Velma clutch their purple pompoms. Shaggy's cover-side exclamation — "Zoinks! That's some menacing mascot!" — sets the tone perfectly for "School Spirit," a story that looks like equal parts spooky and silly. Walter Carzon and Horacio Ottolini bring the action with their usual lively energy, making this 2016 issue a cheerful treat for fans of the classic Hanna-Barbera crew.
