Scooby-Doo #3

Scooby-Doo and Shaggy look absolutely terrified on this December 1995 Archie Comics cover, with a menacing pirate ghost looming over them while a skeletal pirate pops out of a treasure chest declaring "Sorry! This chest is taken!" Cover pencils by Scott Jeralds and inks by Scott Awley give the scene a lively, expressive energy that perfectly captures the gang's knack for stumbling into supernatural trouble. Inside, writer Michael Kirschenbaum and artist Gordon Morison (inked by Alfredo Alcala) bring the "Ship of Dummies!" adventure to life — and if the cover is any indication, Scooby and Shaggy are already regretting every decision that led them here.
