This 2016 DC series reimagines the Mystery Inc. gang in a genuinely unsettling post-apocalyptic world, and issue #6 puts Velma Dinkley front and center in striking fashion. The cover — penciled and inked by Howard Porter — shows a hooded, goggled Velma crouching defiantly in a ruined urban street, wielding a flaming makeshift weapon while an enormous, green-eyed monster looms and snarls in the darkness behind her. With a story titled "The Secret History of Velma Dinkley" and the creative firepower of Keith Giffen, J. M.
