Two fierce faces — a blonde and a redhead — loom in tense close-up confrontation while a snarling, tech-collared Scooby-Doo grapples with a grotesque blue monster below, all surrounded by a press of ghoulish creatures clawing in from the edges. Keith Giffen and J. M. DeMatteis bring the tension with Dale Eaglesham on art, and Carlos D'Anda's cover composition makes the rivalry between these two women feel as urgent as the monster-filled wasteland around them. As a bonus, the issue also promises another chapter of Secret Squirrel — making this January 2018 installment a genuinely entertaining double feature.
