From Belgian cartoonist Kamagurka comes Schreibstau, published in 1996 by Edition Moderne's "Cartoons in der Moderne" imprint. The cover cartoon sets the wry, deadpan tone perfectly: a frustrated writer sits hunched at his desk, a single sheet of paper reading "ENDE" before him, declaring "Nun noch den Rest!" ("Now just the rest!") to an impassive onlooker in a turquoise jacket. It's a quietly hilarious snapshot of creative paralysis, rendered in Kamagurka's cheerfully absurdist line work.
