This anthology issue contains three stories: "Pam's First Term at Mountain School" follows Pam Robins as she investigates a mystery involving an intricate model ice-rink at her new school, working with her friend Bubbles and discovering that Karl Dolmann and Marlene were secretly using it. A second story follows a narrator's experience with Duval's Circus, where the protagonist and a friend named Patsy help prevent the Seventh Clown from sabotaging the circus, ultimately attending the successful London gala season. "Ken and Joyce and the Ghost Elephant" by Hazel Armitage features Ken and Joyce searching for an elephant boy named Lu San in a Burmese camp, discovering that the supposedly dangerous Ghost Elephant is actually innocent and belongs to Lu San's family. Additionally, "Jo of Hawthorn Stables" by Enid Boyten tells of Jo Hathaway's discovery that a black Alsatian dog blamed for attacking horses is actually innocent and homeless, which she proves with the help of her horse Snowball.
