Scary Tales #11

Charlton's anthology of horrors and wonders returns with issue #11, and Steve Ditko's cover sets an irresistibly strange scene: a man in an orange jacket and a woman in yellow both reel backward with hands raised and eyes wide, their heads blazing with an unearthly light, while two sleek unicorns rear and wheel around them in a sun-dappled forest clearing — a full moon overhead silhouetting yet another of the mythical creatures. With Nick Cuti writing and Ditko handling both pencils and inks inside as well, "The Unicorn!" promises the kind of offbeat supernatural storytelling that made Charlton's horror line a reliable January 1978 treat.
