Scarlet Spider #2
Part three of the "Cyberwar" storyline, this December 1995 Marvel issue puts the Scarlet Spider front and center in a striking transformation — the cover tagline promises a shift "from web-swinger to gun-slinger," and the image delivers, showing the red-and-black-hooded hero airborne and blazing away with dual firearms while spent shell casings rain down around him. Two terrified civilians cower below as a city skyline looms in the background, framing the action with real urban tension. John Romita Jr.'s pencils and Al Williamson's inks give the whole scene a kinetic, hard-edged energy that makes this one of the more visually arresting chapters in the arc.
