The seventh volume of Emmanuel Guibert's delightful French space-adventure series finds young Sardine and her blue-caped uncle in a chaotic standoff with a snarling red-suited villain — all over what appears to be a very battered, explosion-singed pizza. Subtitled Pizza Tomik, this 2008 Dargaud entry wears its absurdist humor right on the cover, with Sardine clutching the mangled pie triumphantly while a small black cat looks on from above. It's exactly the kind of gleefully silly cosmic mischief that has made this series a favorite with younger readers.
