Santos Sisters #1 is a "Giant Sized 56 Page Spectacular" from American Nature Comics that wears its Generation X heart proudly on its sleeve. The cover by Greg Petre and Fake is a delightful blast of Saturday-morning energy: two superheroines — Alana and Ambar — dash through a desert landscape while a trio of karate-chopping animal ninjas (a wolf, a bear, and a rabbit, all shouting "HUP!") scramble ahead of them, as Ambar cheerfully admits she could eat the little critters right up, only to be called out for her lapsed veganism. It's a warm, funny, and cleverly designed package that sets up writer-artists Greg Petre and Fake's comedic superhero world with real charm.
