Yslaire's Samber reaches its eighth volume with a hauntingly intimate cover rendered in warm sepia tones — a masked woman in period dress gazes out from what appears to be a mirror or frame, while a young man carrying a camera or box looks on from the shadows beside her. The Dutch title, "Zij die mijn ogen niet meer zien..." ("She whom my eyes no longer see..."), lends the image a melancholy, romantic weight that feels perfectly matched to Yslaire's delicate linework.
