“Actriz de fotonovela”

In "Actriz de fotonovela," a young French woman named Odette is offered a breakthrough role in an Italian fotonovela, but her past catches up with her when the director’s photographer recognizes her from a distance. Tensions rise when the director tries to exploit his power, only to be slapped and rejected—prompting the photographer to track her down and uncover the principled reasons behind her sudden departure from the French film world three years prior. The story unfolds with quiet intensity, drawn with sharp detail by Luis Divins, and features a striking cover by Jorge Franch.

A famous director of fotonovelas in Italy offers the lead role in his next production to a fresh face. But Odette, the young French woman, seems familiar to his photographer. When the director attempts to use his position to demand that she be 'nice' to him, she slaps his face and leaves. The photographer goes after her and learns she had left the French cinema three years earlier for similar reasons when she was faithful to the principles taught to her when she was young.
