Philip tracks down Tentacle, who has managed to open a gate back to the Amen to rescue his twin, and bring him to Earth. While Philip battles Tentacle and his twin, four of the Smiths emerge from the gate onto Earth, and take residence in the body of Blake Murchison. At the end of the battle, Runesmith ejects Philip from his own body, and he ends up in the ectosphere.
