Sad Sack Comics #85

Harvey's beloved everyman soldier finds himself in another perfectly timed predicament on this George Baker cover, where our hapless MP hero has apparently just run over a poor yellow dog with a military jeep — much to the horror of a scowling superior officer and a panicked fellow soldier reacting from the vehicle. The scene captures everything fans "loved by millions" adore about Sad Sack: the universe conspiring against one well-meaning, bumbling GI in the most spectacular fashion possible. For a dime in 1958, this was pure comedic gold from the pages of Harvey Comics.
