Sad Sack Comics #78
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeHarvey's beloved everyman soldier is at it again in this 1958 issue, cover by George Baker. The scene finds our hapless Sad Sack propped up in a hospital bed in Ward Z Military Hospital, having just set off a comically mushroom-cloud-sized explosion from what appears to be a firecracker — while a startled nurse carrying a tray of medicine stumbles in the doorway, a question mark floating above her head. It's the kind of cheerful, good-natured military humor that earned this series its "Loved by Millions" tagline, and Baker's clean, expressive linework delivers the gag with perfect comic timing.
