Harvey's beloved everyman soldier gets himself into another spectacular predicament in this 1957 entry, with cover art by George Baker showing the hapless Sad Sack tumbling helplessly through the air, his ankle roped to a swooping Army rocket while the Earth spins below him. It's a wonderfully absurd image that captures everything fans loved about the character — good intentions, impossible outcomes, and that endlessly put-upon expression. "Loved by Millions" says the cover, and it's easy to see why this bumbling soldier kept readers coming back.
