“Very Particular”

Poor Sad Sack can't catch a break even in the hospital — he's propped up in bed surrounded by a flood of colorful "Get Well" cards while reading one that pointedly says "Get Lost, You're Sarge," as Sarge himself lurks sheepishly in the doorway. George Baker's cover art for this 1973 Harvey issue perfectly captures the gentle, good-natured humor that made this series, as the banner proudly notes, "Loved by Millions." The left-hand character portraits also remind readers of the full cast waiting inside — Sarge, The General, Muttsy, and Slob Slobinski among them — promising plenty of bumbling army-life comedy within.
