Harvey's long-running military comedy series delivers another helping of hapless misfortune in this January 1968 issue, with George Baker's cover showing Sad Sack stumbling under the crushing weight of a green "Secret File" cabinet as papers scatter everywhere — much to the wide-eyed horror of a fuming superior officer and the bewilderment of a red-haired onlooker. The big "CRACK!" sound effect at the bottom says it all: whatever was supposed to stay organized and confidential is now gloriously, irreversibly not. If you've ever rooted for the little guy against an unforgiving system, Sad Sack remains one of comics' most endearing underdogs.
