Harvey's beloved bumbler takes center stage at the Post Theatre in this 1967 installment of Sad Sack Comics, where the hapless soldier — billed as "Samson Sack" — attempts to hoist a whopping 500-lb barbell during an Army Show, sending the stage crashing down in a shower of "BANG" sound effects while bewildered fellow soldiers scramble and recoil in every direction. George Baker's energetic line work captures the cheerful chaos perfectly, with tumbling props, flying debris, and wide-eyed onlookers all piling into one wonderfully absurd scene. At just 12 cents, this is Harvey Comics humor at its most endearingly slapstick.
