Sad Sack Comics #113
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeHarvey's long-running army comedy is in fine form with this January 1961 issue, cover by George Baker, where poor Sad Sack is on the receiving end of a flailing, thrashing Sarge in the bunk above — complete with cartoon stars flying as Sack reels in the lower bunk while a little dog labeled "Poochie" sprawls on the floor nearby. It's the kind of gentle, good-natured slapstick that made this series a genuine favorite, and with duffel bags labeled "Sarge" and "Sack" hanging from the bunk frame, the whole scene captures the hopeless charm of army life at its most absurd.
