“Blow Up”

Kitchen disaster strikes again in Sad Sack Comics #105 from Harvey, cover by George Baker! The cover captures a perfectly chaotic moment: Sad Sack, dressed in a cook's apron and chef's hat, has just launched the contents of a frying pan — over a burner that's actively on fire — directly onto the exasperated Sergeant's head, while the little dog Mutsy K-9 watches from below. It's the kind of cheerful, slapstick military humor that made this series a dime-well-spent in 1960.
