Sabretooth: The Dead Don’t Talk #5
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeIssue #5 serves as the series finale of this five-part limited series, delivering the full origin of the Crocodilian (Sir Marmaduke Dix) — a newly created Marvel villain whose backstory is rooted in an 1888 Egyptian tomb tied to Sobek, positioning him as a potential recurring threat in both the Wolverine and Moon Knight corners of the Marvel universe. The conclusion of Sabretooth's early-1900s identity as 'Mad Dog Murphy,' ruler of the Five Points underworld, formally canonizes a previously unknown chapter of Victor Creed's past on Earth-616, enriching his centuries-spanning rivalry with Wolverine. By closing the flashback loop in the present-day narrative — where a spotted newspaper photo of Logan reignites Creed's obsessive hatred — the issue reinforces the fatalistic, cyclical nature of the Sabretooth–Wolverine relationship at a moment when Sabretooth is canonically dead in the main Marvel timeline.

The series was written by Frank Tieri, whose history with the Wolverine family of titles stretches back to the early 2000s, and illustrated by Michael Sta. Maria, with colors by Rachelle Rosenberg and letters by Joe Sabino. The book was edited by Mark Paniccia with assistant editors Drew Baumgartner and Mikey J. Basso, under editor-in-chief C. B. Cebulski. Tieri has noted his prior work expanding Ravencroft's history as a throughline to this series, which picks up with Sabretooth still working as a body collector for Mr. Sinister at that institution before breaking free to enter the Five Points gang wars. The first issue carried a cover date of February 2025 (released December 25, 2024), with issue #5 shipping April 23, 2025; the complete run was subsequently collected in a trade paperback with a cover by Adam Kubert.
